Pennsylvania is one of 26 direct access states, where, if your insurance plan authorizes self-referral to physical therapy, a physician referral is not necessary for you to be seen by a licensed therapist.
This means that you can directly schedule an appointment at one of ProCare’s convenient locations for evaluation and treatment by our highly qualified therapists. While you can access physical therapy directly there are some limitations, such as a 30 day treatment window without a physician’s referral.
Please check with your insurance plan to see if a physician’s referral is required to be covered. We also offer treatments, services and/or products that do NOT require a referral and are available on a self-pay basis.
